From early pregnancy through to delivery and departure for
home, the Birth Center at Sonoma Valley Hospital prides
itself on offering the most personalized and attentive
care an expectant mother and her loved ones can hope
to find. A variety of prenatal education programs help
prepare expectant families to welcome their newest member.
Once
admitted, mothers-to-be enjoy private rooms with complete
fetal monitoring services that allow our staff to keep tabs
on their baby moment-by-moment throughout the labor and delivery
process. Highly trained obstetrical nurses are either in the
room or just steps away, and specialist physicians are within
minutes of the hospital 24 hours a day.
After delivery, mothers
can room in with their babies. Those who opt for a well-earned
rest can always find nurses and support
staff more than willing to assume baby-holding duties.
Also,
the hospital’s participation in a special “Families
First” program includes up to three home visits by nurses
who offer guidance and support for new parents over the course
of their baby’s first year.
