The Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation hosted an open house reception to
celebrate the unveiling of the newly renovated birth room. “We have
come a long way,” said Rebecca Hengehold, director of maternity. “It’s
amazing when you stand at the doors to our unit and look down the hall.
It looks like a different hospital … and all those changes cost very
little. It tells you what we can do with some paint and dedication to
excellence.” The Sept. 10
event included wine and appetizers, live classical music and tours of the redesigned “family-centered” facility. Each baby born at Sonoma Valley Hospital is sent home with a wonderful ‘welcome to the world’ package that includes a homemade blanket and quilt, a
knit hat, carseat, head cradle and t-shirt.
