Reception and Registration

What you may want to know before being admitted to Sonoma Valley Hospital. For more information about our admission procedures or on what you might expect during your hospital stay, feel free to call us at 707-935-5000.
How to find us — We are located at 347 Andrieux Street, in Sonoma, two blocks off of Highway 12 (Broadway). See this map or call us at 707-935-5000 for directions.
What you will need for admission — Our admitting representative will ask about your insurance coverage. You will need:
- Insurance identification or policy number
- Social Security number
- Medicare/Medi-Cal card
- Any other medical insurance information your doctor suggests you bring
- If you have an Advance Directive (Living Will/Power of Attorney for Healthcare), please bring a copy of it with you.
How long will admission take? — You can expect it will take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete the admissions process.
What will you need for your stay? — We will provide you with most of what you need for your hospital stay. Please bring a list of the medications you are currently taking, but do not bring your medications or use these medications while you are in the hospital unless you are told to do so by your physician.
- Personal Appliances—Insurance requirements dictate that any privately owned electrical items that you bring with you (such as personal hair dryers, shavers, radios, etc.) must be inspected by our Engineering Department. Check with your nurse to arrange for inspection.
- Smoking—State law and concerns for patient safety mandate that smoking not be allowed by anyone within the hospital building. There are several areas designated for that purpose outside the building. Consult your admission materials for more information.
- Telephone Service—Telephone service is available in your room from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Television—Cable television is included in all patient rooms.
- Valuables—We encourage you to leave your valuables at home. Bring only what you need to make your stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
