Our Volunteers

The Sonoma Valley Hospital Auxiliary was founded in 1956 to provide non-medical services on a volunteer basis. We are good will ambassadors assisting hospital employees and patients in a wide range of customer service efforts. Chief among these are staffing the Information Desk that welcomes all visitors at the front door of the hospital; escorting patients to and from rooms; making deliveries to patient rooms; and operating the hospital gift shop.

Besides our volunteer hours, our fundraising efforts have provided the hospital with medical equipment, new waiting room and hallway furniture and numerous educational grants for hospital staff. You can help in these efforts by remembering to visit our hospital Gift Shop, our Thanksgiving Bake Sale or to stop by at Christmas, Valentine’s Day or Easter and shop from our large assortment of See’s Candy selections.

The Auxiliary is a vital organization of volunteers who donated nearly 20,000 hours of their time last year. All of our members feel rewarded with the sense of having given back in a meaningful way.
