Sonoma Family Practice Joins Sonoma Valley Hospital’s Specialty Clinics GroupJune 19, 2018
Sonoma Valley Hospital has announced that Sonoma Family Practice will become part of the Hospital’s group of Specialty Clinics, effective July 2. Practice physicians John Schafer, MD, Daisy Manuel-Arguelles, DO and Subhash Mishra, MD remain with the practice and continue to provide care for patients.
The practice will be named “Sonoma Valley Specialty Clinic: Family Practice,” and continue to be located at 270 Perkins St. Phone and fax numbers remain the same: 707.938.3131 (phone); 707.938.3678 (fax).
“Associating with the hospital provides several benefits,” said Dr. Schafer. “It allows us to focus on patient care, with less time spent on administrative matters. It also provides our patients with access to their health information online through the patient portal operated by the hospital, making it easier to view lab results and request medications.” He also noted that, with hospital support, the practice is expanding the staff with the addition of a nurse practitioner.
The new Family Practice office joins two other clinics the hospital opened in 2016. One is located at 651 1st St. West and supports physicians specializing in orthopedics, bariatrics, urology, pain management, obstetrics and gynecology, vascular surgery, ENT and gastroenterology The second, at 462 West Napa Street, has physicians offering orthopedic and general and colorectal surgery services.
“We have a growing number of wonderful physicians in our community, so residents can find the care they need close to home,” said Dawn Kuwahara, RN, BSN, Chief Ancillary Officer, who oversees the hospital’s clinics. She added that those looking for a specialist or primary care physician locally can look on the hospital website at svh.com under the “Find A Doctor” section which lists the more than 80 physicians affiliated with the hospital.
SVSC Family Practice hours will be 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with the office closed between 12:00 noon and 2:00 pm.
